Meals That Matter ∙ Lunching with purpose at Ellenborough Park

This winter, Ellenborough Park invites guests to enjoy a beautifully considered dining experience that gives back, with the launch of its Meals That Matter charity menu in support of Emily’s Gift, a local charity dedicated to helping children with cancer across Gloucestershire.

Available from 2 January to 31 March 2026, Monday to Saturday between 12.30pm and 2.30pm, the menu offers the perfect excuse to gather for a leisurely lunch in one of Ellenborough Park’s cosy, character-filled spaces, all while contributing to a truly meaningful cause.

Delicious lunch with wine and a donation

More than just a meal, Meals That Matter is designed to bring people together over good food, good conversation and a shared sense of purpose. By dining from this special menu, guests are helping to support vital work for children and families facing cancer, proving that small gestures, when shared, can make a meaningful difference.

Lunch guests at Ellenborough Park can choose between two courses for £30 or three courses for £35, each option including a 250ml carafe of wine and a £3 discretionary donation per diner to support Emily’s Gift. It’s a thoughtful combination of seasonal cooking, relaxed indulgence and purposeful giving.

The menu showcases comforting yet refined dishes, beginning with starters such as wild mushrooms with roasted chorizo on sourdough toast, Scottish smoked salmon with lime and sesame dressing, or a warming celeriac velouté, which can also be prepared vegan. Main courses continue the theme of generous, elegant cooking, with options including grilled pork loin steak with creamed potato and red wine jus, roasted seabass with chive linguini and saffron fennel, or a rich wild mushroom risotto, adaptable for vegan diners. To finish, desserts range from a classic sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream ice cream to vanilla crème brûlée with white chocolate and orange, alongside a selection of ice creams and sorbets.

Bringing people together

Emily’s Gift is a heartfelt appeal run under the umbrella of the Pied Piper Appeal, launched in March 2023 with the mission to raise £500,000 in one year to fund a dedicated psychologist at the Emily Kent Unit of Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, offering vital emotional and psychological support to children undergoing cancer treatment and their families over a ten-year period. Thanks to overwhelming community support, the original fundraising target has already been reached, enabling the service to be put in place, and the appeal has now turned its attention to further impactful projects such as acquiring a blood sampling machine to reduce waiting times and stress for young patients and their families. Emily’s Gift is named in memory of Emily Kent, whose journey with cancer inspired others to ensure that future families receive not just medical care, but compassionate support throughout their treatment.
